Katherine Matilda Swinton is a British actress. She is known for playing eccentric and enigmatic characters, often working with auteurs. Her accolades include an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and nominations for four Golden Globe Awards. Swinton began her career by appearing in Derek Jarman's experimental films Caravaggio, The Last of England, War Requiem, and The Garden.
