Joby Jay
Joby Jay is a soulful and eccentric female artist from Jamaica with a unique sound and vocal texture. As one of the newest female artists on the scene, she’s known for her ‘Big Girl Ting’ anthem encouraging females to be the ‘Queens’ they are unapologetically. She sees herself pursuing the sounds of reggae music with a fondness for genres like jazz and afro beats, among others. Her journey began in 2019 and blew up after her performance at Unplgd, where she performed a Vybz Kartel Medley, arranged by her now Manager, Daniellia A. White. She was awarded the VM Wealth Breakthrough Artiste of the Year 2022 at the JaRIA Awards. She has since released more music, some with visuals. She continues to make her stamp on the industry touching stages with the likes of Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Nadine Sutherland, Tessellated, Judy Mowatt and Sevana, and more. As Joby Jay continues to establish her name and brand in the industry, she hopes that people will hear a message through her music and find hope in her songs. She says she doesn't just want to write 'feel good and shallow' music for her entire career, but instead, she wants to reach people through the gift given to her, as she believes she is a vessel. She also emphasized that her 'Mood' for this journey is that of gratitude. Joby Jay is expected to release her debut project in 2023.
