Monkeyneck
Born and raised in Budapest, he's been in front of a computer screen making beats since he was 15 years old. Experimenting with different music production softwares from an early age, his first love was hip hop and jazz. He got the buzz for house music in his early twenties while spending a year in Miami studying as a sound engineer. Official releases started coming soon after. He first got recognition for his remixes in 2013 by gaining the support of artists like Kygo, Odesza and Robin Schulz. Producing music that is often hopeful and uplifting while implementing chord progressions that are melancholic in nature - which earned him his signature sound "uplifting sadness." A versatile musician who plays the trumpet, saxophone and guitar, Monkeyneck has recently re-emerged to cement his unique House sound. A master of catchy melodies and playful baselines, he's often mixing traditional with unexpected. Chopped up vocal samples, soulful trumpet riffs and side-chained pads are just a few ingredients of the classic Monkeyneck recipe. His most notable works include the singles "Over You", "Time to Love" and the remarkable Chet Faker Remix which all showcase his distinct style and take listeners on a journey, bringing them to a place where they can escape and be lost in the music. Monkeyneck will be releasing more music that is sure to get people on the dance floor across the globe!
